The first male finisher - in “CariFin Team in Training” for UWI International Half Marathon.
This man had a big day. Said what he wanted to do and went out and did it, in a no nonsense way. He walk (run) the talk. (No pun intended). Plain and simple.
He and Nikosi Mc Leish (CariFin 2007 winner) was running together side by side from the start up until the second mile and Rodney finding the pace too comfortable for him told Nikosi, “ah stepping it up, later!” and moved away.
What was his plan, what he came to do at UWI half?
“I plan to run at 6 -7 minutes per mile.”
On he went in that 6 something zone.
He finished the race in 1.29.42
