Pilar Mc Shine - Yes I have been running...
Hi guys I met Pilar McShine recently via facebook and we had a little chat. She updated me about what she up to and how her running career is coming along.
You must remember Pilar McShine. She was that young female runner, who sported a Rasta style, ran bare footed and was hugely successful among the women and reigned as the top female runner up until she left Trinidad on a scholarship.
Hear is what she had to say,
"Yes I have been running exceptionally well....I change my events and I mainly focus on the 1500m which was always one of my events and 800m now. I run cross country to build strength for those race and it went really well last year (I ran 17:40 in the 5k in cross and 21:13 6k in cross also) so this year I had a really good year in track....running times in the 800m one in which I am still new to ( 2:05.73 and was really consistent and I went to NCAA'S for it but my I made it to the semi finals and didn’t really run good.....and the 1500m I ran 4:23 which I hardly ran this year because of my new found love (the 800m) but next year I may run the 1500m more often so I can try and get the 1500m National record....I was a couple seconds off of the 800m Olympic standard and I was really tired after my collegiate season so I decided that I would take my two weeks off and start my preparation for my Cross country season, that’s why I didn’t come to the trials because to me it didn’t made any sense coming....Oh well but I am doing good and I know people probably forget about me, well some people but I am looking forward to next year and running much better than I did this year. Anyways it was nice hearing from you and the great stuff you are doing, keep up the good work".
