“School is Out” - Hike and Outdoor activity
CariFin is all about the promotion of a healthy lifestyle. So it is no surprise that we’re combining that healthy life with exploring (the outdoors) beautiful Trinidad and Tobago during the school holiday. (Hiking)
With schools on vacation this gives us the ideal opportunity to use hiking to explore a bit of the beautiful flora and in some cases unique and rare fauna of Trinidad and Tobago.
Think about the beautiful pools, waterfalls, rivers, caves and the absolutely awesome land formations and water ways out there just waiting on to discovered (by you).
I have searched all the hiking groups for hikes that an average active person can do; a person that can walk/jog the savannah for at least three times a week. I have teamed up with the guys at Sacketteers to provide us with what could only be described as a waterfall with an astounding view – The Sambassons Falls; a series of 5 waterfalls.
This hike is described as easy to moderate and will take the slowest persons about one and a half hours to reach the destination.
How do these these things work? When you disembark from the vehicle, it takes about one and a half hours to the Falls.
Along the way you pass mainly cocoa and coffee trees. When you reach the falls you can bathe. Of course there is time for eating, liming, talking, meeting new people and then hike back, this takes a maximum of five (5) hours all together.
Assemble time and registration is 7:00 a.m. outside the Arima Hospital (East Face) (next to the statue.)
Vehicles leave that point from about 8:00 a.m. and head North along the Blanchisseuse road. Your transport or car pool
